The course is taught by Jari Paretskoi, a jewelry designer behind Design by Paretskoi, known for handcrafted wooden rings and wood–precious metal combinations. Jari first picked up carving at the age of three, and has been creating in the workshop ever since. He has been making wooden rings for several years and has also taught the method in various educational institutions—so you can be confident you’re in good hands.

The timeline depends entirely on you. Without inlays, it takes Jari about an hour to make a wooden ring—but that comes with a lot of experience.

Your first ring may take much longer, and that’s completely fine. As with anything, practice makes perfect—and your second ring will already be much quicker than the first!

Most of the materials can be purchased from larger supermarkets and general stores. You won’t need any special tools for this course.
